Pappazzum is a comical fanfare able to offer a raving show, where music
melts with italian Commedia dellArte in a surreal dance, visible
to the naked eye too. Musicians for everybody and for every situation:
street festivals, wddings, opening cerimonies, stages, lounges, spaceships
as they can take everywhere a huge amount of italian warmth.
The historic nature of every single musician and the current custom
to improvisation are the stylistic peculiarity of the band, which can
blend music, dance, comedy and 70's moods.
The band essentially plays original tracks; the repertory moves freely
from ethnic sonorities to jazz, including funky and latin suggestions
and giving rise to an unusual mix of different styles and genres.
Saxophones, clarinets and percussion instruments are used not only for
a sonic purpose, but also for a scenic and theatrical aim. The result
is a wild, ironic, surreal show.
Until today Pappazzum have played in several festivals, both in Italy
(Ferrara Buskers Festival, Chieti Busker Festival, Festival of Mercogliano,
Circumnavigando in Liguria region, Ratataplan in Sanremo, Incanti e
banchi in Castel Fiorentino) and abroad: in France (D'ailleurs d'ici
in Colmar), in Switzerland (Oron Word Festival and Festival Neuche),
in Serbia (Ulicnih h Svira in Novi Sad), in Portugal (Imaginarium
in Santa Maria da Feira).
With the show 70 mi dà tanto, under the
direction of Eugenio Allegri, the band has been involved in many theatre
seasons in Italy.
